Some general clothing guidelines
Jackets: RD1 or 2 pattern, commutation, civilian coats, possibly one Columbus Depot (in the fall of 1862, there was a shipment of 5000 jackets sent from Columbus, GA to the Dept. of Western Virginia).
Trousers: C.S., civilian, or captured US (the latter should be in good shape)
Shirts: Civilian or US issue (again, the latter should be in good condition)
Shoes or Boots -- Period pattern
Hat: civilian or military
Socks period type ( bring a coupple of pairs due to the wet and cold)
Weapons -- 3 band enfield
42 springfield
Richmond pattern Carbine or shotgun
may have 1 or 2 men carry one revoler (colt manufacture or such no Remingtons)
Leathers -- a mix of Cofederate manufacture Captured US also could be a mix of infantry and cav gear No need for a bayonet since the troops were Cav or mounted Inf
Blankets - coverlets Captured US or Civilian
Overcoats Civilian or US
Haversack-- CS pattern US pattern
Ground clothes CS type US type
Canteen CS issue, or US issue
